FISCHER SKIS AND TELEGRAPH FEATURE

Baffin Heliskiing was recently featured in Britain's The Telegraph in a four-page spread written by Will Robson. And after a successful first season, we are looking ahead to winter and are excited to announce that we will be testing the Fischer Ranger 115.

With winter in sight, we are excited to announce that we will be testing Fischer’s new Ranger 115 this coming ski season. Our long history with Fischer goes way back to the early days of Weber Arctic when Richard and Josee lead expeditions to the North Pole. “When looking for a reliable ski for polar expeditions, Richard remembers trying other skis without any success but found his way back to Fischer after racing on their skis for many years”. As our company has grown and evolved as a leader in Arctic travel we have been so fortunate to have Fischer’s support throughout our journey.

Last season, we launched the world’s Northernmost heli-ski operation. Based in the Canadian Arctic, the glacially formed fiords of Baffin Island’s rugged east coast provided the perfect location to develop our ski operation. The Fischer Ranger 108 TI was our ski of choice as a great all-mountain ski. “The cold guarantees consistently light snow that blows over your boot tops and the multi-year snow beneath holds an edge.” The Fischer Ranger performed beautifully in these conditions and provided our guests with the perfect balance between float and ability to hold an edge. The deep fiords of Baffin Island offer untracked runs over four kilometers long in some of the most beautiful terrain in the world. The Fischer Ranger 108 proved to be a versatile ski and we can’t wait for the snow to continue falling and put the new Ranger 115 to the test on Baffin Island!

Making turns alongside towering fiords in the Canadian Arctic, Will is among only a handful of people to have ever Heli-skied on Baffin Island. His words paint an evocative picture of the reality and the thrill of operating at the world’s most extreme. “Nowhere is more untouched than Baffin Island, a remote area of northern Canada. Here, you can be the first to map hundreds of uncharted ski runs- and even name them.”
