HELICOPTER AT ARCTIC WATCH STARTING IN 2022

In our quest to continually explore further afield, we're stationing a helicopter for the entire summer at Arctic Watch starting in 2022.

We're extremely fortunate to live, play and explore in one of the most wild places on earth: the Canadian High Arctic. When our guests visit on any one of our adventures, our goal is always to ask ourselves - what can we do to go even further?

Starting in 2022, we're stationing a helicopter to explore the greater Somerset Island and Northwest Passage. The one day optional add-on for guests staying at our lodge Arctic Watch means incredible views of the Northwest Passage, access to historical sites from pre-contact Thule people, to the early European explorers and more.

In small groups (up to four people), our guests heli hike new areas beyond the regular range from the lodge. Routes and areas visited are based on guest desires and daily wildlife and weather conditions. From early season floe edge helicopter hikes to exploring pack ice for polar bears, narwhal and belugas. In late summer, the helicopter is a great way to take in the grandness of the Northwest Passage beyond the normal distances we cover on foot. Routes are chosen carefully by our guides to ensure that local wildlife (polar bears, muskoxen, belugas, narwhal) are not disturbed.

We recommend one day with the helicopter part of your stay at Arctic Watch. The option is offered on a per seat basis (at an additional cost) and guests are asked to book prior to their arrival at Arctic Watch to ensure availability.
