WEBER FAMILY ENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH QUARK EXPEDITIONS

The Weber Family has chosen to end their partnership with Quark Expeditions for our lodge Arctic Watch.

We have elected to end our partnership of several years with Quark Expeditions, and as of 2020 we will continue on our separate journeys. Quark, an established polar travel company with ship-based operations brought our small family-run operation at Arctic Watch exposure to larger-scale adventure travel partners across the globe. Quark Expeditions partnered with our lodge Arctic Watch to offer (including), reservation services to guests coming into the lodge.

We are thankful to Quark for the time and energy they have invested in Arctic Watch and wish them all the best in the future with their projects in Antarctica.

In recent years, our operations have shifted to offer more focused experiences and as a family we’re committed to return to our roots - investing in our unique ability to offer small-scale and tailored Arctic experiences. For guests, this will mean the same high-quality service during your stay at Arctic Watch. Our team is our family and we are proud to consistently provide guests with outstanding experiences during their time in the Arctic. This quality of service will now span beyond just our lodge at Arctic Watch. All bookings for 2020 and beyond at Arctic Watch will be personally handled by the Weber family.

The Yellowknife portion of the trip, starting in 2020, will be handled by Weber Arctic and ensure the same level of hospitality as you would expect at Arctic Watch.

For travel partners, this will mean that you’ll have direct access to booking with the Weber family.

All reservations at Arctic Haven and Baffin Heli-skiing are not related to Quark and will continue to be handled by the Weber family; 2019 and beyond.

Some of the new changes taking place in 2020 at Arctic Watch:

Significant improvements to our airstrip at Arctic Watch means that guests are now flying aboard an ATR-72 to Arctic Watch, cutting flight times from Yellowknife to Arctic Watch by one hour. The journey will now take between 3 and 3.5 hours. For guests with private aircraft, we now have the ability to welcome a greater range of planes.

Increased Investment in our lodge facilities means improved rooms for guests and higher comfort levels.

Closer staff to guest ratios: we now average 19 staff for 23 guests per week at Arctic Watch, 4 guests per guide on excursion.

Preferred rates & dates for past travellers: If you’ve travelled with the Weber family before, you’re on our preferred guest list. Simply contact us to get access to preferred rates and dates on our adventures.

We’ve listened to our guests: the Weber family will be phasing out 7-night adventures to Arctic Watch and uniquely offering 9-nights adventures starting in 2020. People want more time in the Arctic!

We are very proud to remain family owned and operated across our operations - Arctic Watch & Arctic Haven Lodges, Baffin Heli-skiing and our custom experiences.
